Steps
- Go to crucial.com, either use their RAM analyzer tool, or just start entering your computer's specifications.
- Order the RAM. If you can't wait for it and insist on speeding up your computer speedier, then try using easeUS partitioner to shrink windows and install Linux.
- Be cautious when the RAM arrives, not to touch anything but the very edges. Touching the metal contacts will damage them and risk your RAM not working.
- Take off left panel of computer tower. This is usually easier than you think.
- Do a Google image search for RAM to help you recognize your RAM.
- Open up clips a little and then. with enough light, carefully position and fully insert the RAM. Make sure it is at the same height at the other RAM stick.
- Close clips on RAM, and replace computer case. Start computer.
- You will receive a notification that system memory has changed, press the key to continue. Do not go to any boot menus.
- To further optimize the RAM, go to Start and right click My Computer, then select properties.
- Go to advanced and then select the first settings button. Then go to this window's advanced tab and select "change..." Make sure "System Managed Size" is selected. This is the way Windows Vista and Windows 7 are by default, which is the best usage method.
- Upgrade to Linux. You will not believe the speed boost!
